You see it every day—the bottlenecks, the miscommunications, the search for information you’re sure is buried somewhere.
And you’ve felt it, too, that frustration of knowing how much smoother things could be if just a few key practices were adopted across the board.
So you’ve stepped up—whether it’s teaching others, advocating for better ways of working, or leading by example.
But let’s be honest: it can feel like an uphill battle, especially when the changes you’re making don’t always catch on with the people around you.
Now, you’re not just looking to get by – you want more!
You’re ready to move from tinkering with ideas to creating something meaningful—work that flows, systems that make sense, and tools that work for you, not against you. And even though you know it’s possible, the path to getting there feels overwhelming.
The good news? You don’t have to figure it all out on your own. We’re here to help you make that leap, step by step.
Our members come from the world’s leading organizations
Each month, we’ll focus on a key theme, creating a structured path for the year and giving you the tools and strategies to thrive both individually and collaboratively.
A cluttered workspace, whether physical or digital, creates overwhelm and makes it harder to focus. In January, we’ll work together to declutter your personal and shared environment and archive anything that’s no longer serving you. By the end of the month, you’ll have a clean, inviting workspace that motivates you to tackle your most important projects with clarity and energy.
Disorganized information can leave you feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to start. This month, we’ll dive into the PARA Method (Projects, Areas, Resources, Archives) to create a structure that’s tailored to your needs. By applying PARA across your personal and shared spaces, you’ll not only bring order to your information but also ensure that everything you need is exactly where you can find it.
Choosing the right tools can be challenging, especially if you’re working within an existing team or organization where you’re not the decision-maker. This month, we’ll help you take stock of your current toolkit, evaluate what’s working, and find ways to customize and adapt to your specific needs—even within constraints. By the end of March, you’ll feel confident that you can make the most of your tools, whether you’re designing your own system or maximizing what’s already in place.
You’re wasting precious minutes hunting for the email you need to move forward on a project, or worse, dealing with repeated requests to resend information you’ve already shared. Whether you’re collaborating with a team or managing client communication, inefficiencies like these can create unnecessary friction and waste valuable time. This month, we’ll establish clear guidelines for emails, instant messages, and team communication so that every interaction serves a purpose. By focusing on clarity, boundaries, and actionable requests, you’ll create workflows that foster collaboration and reduce friction.
You’re ending your days unsure of how much you actually accomplished, feeling like you’re being pulled in too many directions at once. Maybe you’re stuck waiting on others to move projects forward, or you’re overwhelmed by an unending to-do list. In May, we’ll build systems for task management, calendar planning, and weekly reviews to help you minimize procrastination and maximize focus. By the end of the month, you’ll have a reliable process for prioritizing your work and making consistent progress toward your goals.
Projects are the most important unit of progress in the modern work environment—they’re how you move things forward and get meaningful results. But managing projects can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re juggling multiple priorities or struggling to decide what to tackle first. This month, we’ll focus on the essentials of project management, including how to prioritize effectively, break down large projects into manageable steps, and follow through to completion. By the end of June, you’ll have a framework to confidently manage multiple projects at once, reduce overwhelm, and consistently deliver results.
As the year progresses, your priorities and tools can drift out of alignment. July is the perfect time to step back, reflect on your progress, and recalibrate your systems for the months ahead. Together, we’ll refresh your PARA structure, adjust your toolkit, and refine your workflows so that you’re ready to finish the year strong.
You’ve seen others using AI to get more done with less effort, and you’re wondering, why not me? AI is quickly becoming an anchor for many systems and tools, making it essential to understand how to use it effectively. That’s why this month is dedicated to exploring how AI can streamline your workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance decision-making. By the end of August, you’ll know how to select the right AI tools and use them to supercharge your productivity in the most impactful ways.
We’ve all been there: a meeting that should have been an email or a long email chain that really needed to be a meeting. Poorly planned communication like this wastes time and leaves everyone feeling frustrated. This month, we’ll tackle how to design and run meetings that drive action, clarify objectives, and foster collaboration—whether they’re with your team or external stakeholders. By the end of September, you’ll have a system to ensure that every meeting and call is purposeful, productive, and worth everyone’s time.
Delegating tasks or onboarding new team members can feel overwhelming when the necessary resources and documentation aren’t in place. Too often, standard operating procedures (SOPs) are created but rarely revisited, becoming just another forgotten document. This month, we’ll focus on creating low-friction, actionable SOPs that people actually use and interact with regularly. You’ll also learn the best tools and techniques to build a knowledge base that simplifies delegation and makes onboarding new team members seamless. By the end of October, you’ll have an efficient system that captures your and your team’s intelligence.
As your goals evolve throughout the year, your tools may need fine-tuning to keep up. In November, we’ll take stock of your toolkit and apply lessons learned to refine and optimize your setup. By the end of the month, you’ll feel confident that your tools are working in harmony with your priorities and supporting you for what’s ahead.
As the year ends, it’s time to take stock of everything you’ve accomplished—not just to prepare for official performance evaluations, but to truly appreciate your own progress. It’s also an opportunity to reflect on the challenges you faced and the lessons you learned, so you can avoid repeating the same frustrations in the future. By capturing these insights, you’ll close the feedback loop, turn setbacks into learning opportunities, and head into the new year with clear goals and a stronger system to support them.
*The monthly themes may be subject to change. We will listen to members’ feedback and make adjustments on the fly.

The Second Brain Membership is not a great fit for those who are completely new to the concept of building a Second Brain. This isn’t a beginner’s course—we’re focused on refining and extending your existing system, especially in ways that help you collaborate more effectively at work or in your business.
(If you’re new here, check out our book or self-paced course.)
It’s also not ideal for anyone looking to be told exactly what to do. The membership thrives on active participation and collaboration, where members share insights, contribute ideas, and learn from each other. The more you engage, the more you’ll get out of it. Together, we create a shared knowledge base that reflects the very principles of the Second Brain—fostering continuous learning and growth for everyone.
We’re hosting the Second Brain Membership on the popular community platform Circle. Circle is also available as a mobile app for Apple and Android so you can access the membership conveniently on the go. Once you sign up, you’ll receive your login.
The quarterly Membership renews every 3 months (90 days) and the annual Membership every 365 days.
Both the quarterly and annual Membership will automatically renew until you cancel them. You'll receive a reminder email 7 days before your renewal date.
We're dedicated to making the Second Brain Membership accessible to a diverse range of people. If you're affiliated with a non-profit organization, NGO, educational institution, or are a faculty member, please reach out to support@fortelabs.com to inquire about a discount.
